Unspoken Ceremonies
Creatures of Habit are a London collective of curators, presenting an exhibition by the name of ‘Unspoken Ceremonies’. Unspoken Ceremonies is a non-profit project focusing on bringing together the mysteries and inquisitiveness of people. It asks us the question: ‘What are the rituals, patterns and behaviours that indoctrinate us into a system of our own making?’ The exhibition will feature artists’ interpretations of the conventional and unconventional, personal and interpersonal traditions, rituals, ceremonies and behaviours – the trials of life as embodiments we feel about our human delusions, fantasies and sometimes frailties. more

The Panto Girls
The Sisters are back in town…… It’s pantomime season at a theatre near you. Backstage in a dressing room are two quite different actors preparing to go onstage as Ugly Sisters in a production of Cinderella. One enjoys the glamour of the theatre and wearing dresses and make up; the other prefers a few pints after a game of footie with the lads. How ever will they survive sharing a dressing room for four weeks? “The Panto Girls” is a comedy with darker moments and a few surprises, and is about the theatre and two men who spend their working lives in the acting profession. Andrew Cullum and Oliver Hume were the Ugly Sisters in the pantomime at Solihull Arts Complex, Christmas 2009. “The Panto Girls” is partially inspired by their own experiences. And it’s all true…..Oh no it isn’t more

Saving the spoon-billed sandpiper talk
The incredible spoon-billed sandpiper, a small wader affectionately known as the spoony, is facing extinction perhaps faster than any other bird species, with probably fewer than 100 pairs remaining and the population in freefall. Without urgent action, it will probably be gone within a decade. The spoon-billed sandpiper has an adaptation, unique among its kind, of a spoon-shaped bill that it uses to sieve tiny animals from mudflats. Join us for an illustrated talk by Rebecca Lee, Senior Species Conservation Officer based at Slimbridge, about WWT’s conservation breeding mission to save the spoon-billed sandpiper. From looking for nests on the Russian tundra to the birds’ new permanent home at WWT Slimbridge. more

Make it Better: Designing Out Medical Error
Make It Better is an exhibition of designs for the clinical environment aimed at reducing medical error. Mistakes made in healthcare can have huge human and financial costs. The design of much medical equipment and environments is outdated, confusing and can lead to errors. Patient safety is a complex issue that needs approaching from different viewpoints. A multidisciplinary team was brought together for three years to research medical error and involve front line clinical staff in developing new designs. The results are a suite of research findings and innovative designs aimed at better supporting front line staff and reducing medical error at the bedside. Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"One of our homes had a Red Cross Open day recently and 30% of the visitors had seen the event listed on your site" - Wellburn.
