Discover what it was like to hear a convivial song at a fashionable Assembly in Hull, the ballad of a beggarwench at Scarborough Fair, a drunken catch at a Beverley tavern, or a seaman’’s lament for his love on the shore – all newly discovered treasures from popular song-books of the 18th century. "Alva unveiled these catchy ballads - typical of what ordinary 18th-century folk would sing and play at home, in the taverns, on the streets, at the fair or racecourse – all brought vividly to life” The York Press more

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
