Operation Shoe Box at Walnuts Shopping Centre
After last year’s success, the Walnuts Shopping Centre is once again appealing to the generous spirit of Orpington and asking them to take part in the Operation Shoe Box appeal. From Monday 23rd January, shoppers are being asked to fill an empty shoe box with everyday items such as deodorant, sweets, razors and wet wipes. The boxes can be dropped at Centre Management and will then be sent to the UK’s service men and women around the globe including Afghanistan. Donators are also encouraged to ensure they tape £2 onto the outside of each box in order to aid with delivery expenses. Operation Shoe Box is an organisation that encourages people to fill shoe boxes with a range of useful and everyday items that mean a great deal to the troops, some of whom have been away for months and are missing basic items that people in the UK take for granted. more

Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"Our family fun day this year was the best ever and a great deal of that success was from a mention on WhereCanWeGo.com. We will definitely be using it for all future events."
- Lee Mill Community Association.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!."
