Fears Foes & Faeries
Fears, Foes & Faeries will open in 23 March 2012 at Scarborough Art Gallery. At the heart of this exhibition are the bizarre and beguiling collection of charms and amulets created by the most curious curator William James Clarke. Whether you are afraid of lightning, witches or double glazing salesmen… we have a charm for it! Clarke’s collection of fascinating but tiny objects hold the key to many stories of bravery and fear; they ultimately acted as coping mechanisms for dealing with fear in its many guises. Our fears and superstitions, then and now, will be explored in this enchanting, eclectic exhibition. more

Geordie Sinatra
It’s party time! Welcome, to the coolest gig in town. Kick back, help yourself from the liquor cart and let Frank ‘The Voice’ Sinatra serenade you till the wee small hours. Well, that’s what’s going on in ex-club singer Geordie’s head, and his dementia induced hallucinations are causing daughter Nancy serious aggravation. Then an old musician mate from Scarborough breezes into town with a nasty secret and the feathers really start to fly. Nancy has to take drastic action because ‘Something’s Gotta Give’. The question is: ‘What would Ava Gardner do?’ Geordie Sinatra is a dark comedy that gets under the skin of dementia. Come fly with Geordie on the journey of a lifetime, whilst a live jazz trio knocks out swinging tunes from the great Sinatra songbook. Presented in The Round auditorium, in a specially created 3-sided format, including cabaret seating. In association with New Writing North. more

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"One of our homes had a Red Cross Open day recently and 30% of the visitors had seen the event listed on your site" - Wellburn.
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
