Get crafty and celebrate the Olympics at Pavilions Birmingham
Do you know your knit from your purl or are you a complete knitting novice? Textile artist Sara Fowles and Stitches and Hos, the Birmingham-based enthusiasts of all things knitted, crocheted and stitched, have opened a pop-up workshop at Pavilions Birmingham. They are on the lookout for knitters to contribute to a spectacular knit graffiti installation that will welcome and celebrate the Jamaican and American teams’ stay in Birmingham this summer for London 2012. The new knitting pop-up workshop, open until Friday 27th July, is a relaxing drop-in space, open to anyone who wants to have fun and contribute to an ambitious Olympic project. K2TOG – Knit 2 Together, will see the lower columns on the exterior of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery covered in knit graffiti. more

Care Companionsltd an organisation that specialises in Dementia Home Care are offering free dementia workshops, the workshops will inlcude an awareness around dementia. Tips and techniques to manage the symptoms of the dementia, where to go for help and support and also any gadgets or disability items that have use for people who are expereincing dementia. The sessions are going to held at All Saints Church hall in Belway Lane, Four Oaks. There are limited places available so you must book via our booking system.
