Thames Philharmonia Concert

Cellist Christina Meissner (Weimar, Germany) joins Thames Philharmonia (Conductor: Byung-Yun Yu) to perform one of the greatest cello concertos. Dvorak’s gloriously romantic concerto is complemented by his Wanda overture and his Symphonic Variations, in which a simple melody is mutated through a dazzling array of rhythms, moods and orchestral colours. Vltava, Smetana’s exciting musical portrayal of the iconic river in his Czech homeland, completes the programme.
