Philharmonia Orchestra: From Tragedy to Triumph

Domingo Hindoyan conductor Michael Barenboim violin Wagner Overture, Der Fliegende Holländer Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1 Beethoven Symphony No. 5 Everybody knows the first four notes of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. But if that’s all you know, you’re in for the ride of your life – a no-holds-barred struggle between darkness and light that everyone needs to hear live at least once. And because genius loves company, conductor Domingo Hindoyan has paired it with Wagner’s storm-tossed musical seascape – you can almost feel the spray! – and a real Russian fairy tale: Prokofiev’s glittering First Violin Concerto.
