Our lecture on September 14th is “Constable and the Making of Masterpieces” by Dr Susan Owens. This lecture takes you behind the scenes of Constable’s much-loved masterpieces, revealing the painstaking and sometimes surprising ways he constructed his paintings. Susan Owens was formerly the Curator of Paintings at the Victoria and Albert Museum and she contributed to the catalogue of the exhibition held at the V&A in 2014-15 “John Constable: The Making of a Master”.
Lectures begin at 11.00am with complimentary coffee and tea from 10.15-10.45. Non-members are very welcome, no need to book (suggested donation £8).
