Witney Feast
Witney Feast is an annual event that has taken place since 1243 when the church was given a royal grant to hold his feast in the church of Witney.
Like any event with a long tradition the Feast has its own legends. One of these concerns a showman's monkey who escaped and ran up the outside of the church spire, but fell to its death frightened by the noise of the watching crowd.
