Heritage Open Day: The original church buildings were erected in 1788 in Townley Street, behind the present church, and were extended in 1806 to include classrooms for a large Sunday School
The present church, which is a Grade II listed building, was built and opened in 1877 with the older church then used as church hall and Sunday school and for a short time as a day school.
In 2009-2010 a major refurbishment of the church was carried out and in 2015 an extensive refurbishment of the halls too
