Heritage Open Day: On permanent display is a wall hanging by Lorna Moffat created in 1994 for the library.
Of special significance to the town, the beautiful colourful embroidered collage depicts the Silk Road travelling from China to Macclesfield. Its symbols and imagery are well described by Lorna, the text of which is available for reading from the best view point on the first floor. Also available is a free leaflet of a brief interesting history of earlier libraries in the town from the 1390
