St Thomas’ Church, Parkgate
Heritage Open Day: This early Victorian church, originally built as a chapel, was closed for 16 years but reopened in 2010, after refurbishment. Local community projects, in support of ‘The Bishop’s Trust’ raised the funds for the renovation and the ’Fisherman’s Church’, as it is known locally, is a testament to their sterling efforts. Financial assistance was also given by English Heritage.
Photographs and documents relating to the history of Parkgate will be on display.
