St Mary's Shrine Church
Heritage Open Day: St Mary's is a Grade II listed RC church, built in 1877. The architect was Edward Welby Pugin. Its interior is richly decorated, with a lavishly carved Portland stone reredos framed by a lofty chancel arch, statues from different periods and impressive stained glass work, including four windows by renowned Dublin artist Harry Clarke. There is also a War Memorial Chapel opened in 1921.
In November 2015, the church passed in ownership to the Priestley Fraternity of St Pete
