John Dalton Memorial Church, St Philips, Eaglesfield
Heritage Open Day: In 1891, a new church was built in the middle of Mosser Parish. It is dedicated to St Philip and St James the Less. It was also named the 'John Dalton Memorial Church' in recognition of the fact that this eminent scientist was born in Eaglesfield within the parish.
The church was designed by C. J. Ferguson, Cumberland's premier church architect of the time. It is a simple Victorian Building, but inside there are some beautiful carvings done by Deaconess Sewe
