Wesley's Methodist Chapel
Heritage Open Day: John Wesley came first to Sussex in 1758 and to Winchelsea in 1771. When he returned in 1789 he was able to preach in Winchelsea's first Methodist Preaching house, opened in 1785. It is a small gem with its own special atmosphere of peace: it has a small upper gallery and a raised pulpit on the east wall - from which John Wesley would have spoken. Guides will show some early Methodist mementos. They will also be warmly welcoming people from across the county of Sussex Hi
Sat 10 Sep:1000 - 1700. Free Entry.
