William Gilberd Days of Tudor Science - Holy Trinity Church

Heritage Open Day: Built by the Saxons around 1000 AD, the church tower is the oldest standing building in Colchester, predating the Norman castle by three quarters of a century. The tower features a small doorway and Romanesque arch constructed with recycled Roman bricks. Later additions include the 14th century chancel and Victorian extensions.
