Sailing Barge Dawn
Heritage Open Day: Dawn is the last tiller steered Thames sailing barge left in full working condition. Built at the Barge Yard next to her berth. Launched in June 1897 from this berth where she lies today.
See how the hatches are all lifted off and the cargo is lifted from the open hold onto the quay using just the gear that is used to set the famous red sails.
