St Stephens Church, Tonbridge

Heritage Open Day: St Stephens Church dates back to 1842 when the railway arrived in the South of Tonbridge. In 1848 plots of land were sold, one of which was secured for £200 to build the church. The church was built by local builders Punnetts and was opened in October 1852. When it first opened there was no bell tower or spire. £500 was raised and these were added the following spring.
