Padiham Blackburn Road Cemetery Guided Walk
Heritage Open Day: The walled cemetery is entered through a stone archway on Blackburn Road and has a grid pathway system. The main pathway which is lined with large trees leads to a small chapel (not opened) built in 1866 as a memorial to the late Le Gendre Nicholas Starkie. Several of the Starkie family tombs are close by.
There are a wide range of headstones, ornate and plain, recording the history of the town's citizens and their lives. These include 16 WWI and 7 WWII Commonwealth War
