Wenns Public House

Heritage Open Day: Two attractive but contrasting buildings make up the complex known as Wenns. Number 9 is brick, rendered later, an early C18 two storey range. Then Number 10, a mid C19 corner to the High Street with Ionic pilasters to the door. The building was first used as a pub in 1872, when the licensee was Simon Claxton Luckly, who was succeeded by James Wenn in 1877 and Lizzie Wenn in 1889.
