St Hilda's RC Church

Heritage Open Day: Roman Catholic Chapels and Missions in Whitby from late 18th century. Present building 1867, in 13th century Gothic style, architect M. Hadfield of Sheffield. Later renewals and improvements. Neglect of WWII damage required rebuilding of tower, fitting of fibreglass spire and reroofing (Welsh slate) in 1990s.
