Heritage Open Day: Enjoy a free 1/2 hour boat trip on the ‘George Watson Buck’ on this restored length of the Montgomery Canal.
The Ellesmere canal came to Llanymynech in 1796 to exploit the limestone of Llanymynech Hill. A few years later it was linked with the Montgomery Canal. Now it is part of the Shropshire Union Canal system, currently under restoration.
Car parking is limited. There is additional parking in the village behind the Dolphin Inn or at the Village Hall.
