Whitchurch Museum & Archives: Peat Cutting Talks

Heritage Open Day: This is an opportunity to visit Whitchurch Heritage Centre, a community resource created in 1998. It is housed in a Grade II listed building which was originally constructed as a chapel in 1806. By the 1880s it was an auction house before becoming the town's main post office. A wide range of exhibitions will be available for visitors to inspect including one on the local mosses. There will be a number of talks given on the peat cutting that took place on these mosses -
