Ryhope Pumping Station Steaming Weekend
Heritage Open Day: Ryhope Engines Museum is based upon the former Ryhope Pumping Station and is a distinctive example of the industrial architecture of mid Victorian times. Its engines show the high standards of mechanical engineering design and construction of that age. Visual appeal had then not been sacrificed entirely to function and there is finely restrained ornamentation on both the building and engines.
