Victoria Tower, Castle Hill

Heritage Open Day: Victoria Tower is effectively the new comer to the Hill despite its castle like appearance. Built to commemorate the 60 year reign of Queen Victoria, the Tower was built following a public appeal for funding and the Ramsden Estate making land available. It was designed by London architect Isaac Jones and cost £3,398 to build. The Grade II listed building provides spectacular views over 5 counties from the top on a clear day and is a popular tourist attraction for both locals
