History: The Medieval Church in Kent from its Saxon Foundations

WEA Adult Education Course - With the arrival of Augustine in Kent in 597 AD it is not surprising that Saxon work can still be recognised in some parish churches in the county. Norman rebuilding enlarged these small churches with new architectural styles and massive towers. More changes occurred as church teaching made further demands with the addition of aisles and chapels.
