Hops - The Evolution of the British Brewery and Classic British Public Houses

WEA Adult Education Course - The course, with the use of a visual presentation, will follow the development of the British hop from medieval times to the present day using cultivation in Herefordshire as the main example. This will include the history and method of operation of the traditional hop kiln. The course then goes on to examine the use of hops in the brewing process and using examples from throughout Britain, the evolution of the traditional British Brewery. The course will end up with
