Queen Victoria in Paris
In August 1955 Queen Victoria made a momentous state visit to Paris, the first British monarch to visit the French capital in over 400 years.
Forty-four watercolours which depict the Queen’s enthusiastic reception in Paris will be displayed at Compton Verney, generously loaned by Her Majesty The Queen from the Royal Collection. Half of the works have never been exhibited before.
