Dracula- Unusual Heroines (Literature course)
With Carol Perrett
Heroines in gothic fiction are usually quiet, prone to
fainting and inevitably need a man to rescue them!
This session will explore how women are portrayed
in this late Gothic novel. We will look at how Stoker’s
Dracula features two heroines who challenge both the
Gothic convention of heroines and the Victorian ideal
of womanhood.
