Strata – a Stitched Excavation
‘Strata – a Stitched Excavation’ represents the culmination of two years of research, workshops and reflective work by the Phoenix Contemporary Textile Group. The group explores this theme through varied perspectives – geological, geographical, social, historical and abstract – to produce vibrant hangings, 3D work and collaborative pieces.
The members of the Group are lively, like-minded textile artists working in diverse methods and media: stitch, cloth, paper, felt, dye and paint. Ten members
