SCIENCE in Radstock Talk: Biologics – the new kids in the medicine cupboard with Dr Nick Hall

Many areas of medicine are experiencing really significant improvements in available treatments. Much of this is due to our better understanding of the mechanisms that underlie diseases such as cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. This allows the design of new drugs, many based on antibody structures that specifically target these mechanisms. The talk will illustrate the development of these new ‘biologic’ drugs and compare them with more conventional medicines.
