Ben Jonson's Folio at 400
The beautifully printed book 'The Works of Benjamin Jonson' was an important precursor of Shakespeare's first folio (published just seven years later, and building on Jonson's example). Jonson's Works was the first English printed collection to be made up primarily of plays performed on the public stage, so it made significant claims for the literary quality and staying-power of the contemporary theatre.
