Gillow Furniture: The Pride of Lancaster

Gillow furniture was founded by Robert Gillow (1703-1772). Gillow established his business as a joiner, housebuilder and overseas merchant. He made plain mahogany furniture for home and export. After forming a partnership with his son the business soon grew and a shop in Oxford Street was opened and new workshops were built in Lancaster and London.
