Charity Garden Open Day: Dean Cottage with Ortona
Dean Cottage, 5 East Rossdhu Drive G84 7ST: the garden is only four years old - planted by the current owners. Twenty tons of gravel were laid over weed mat, designed to be low maintenance. There are lots of pots but also raised and herbaceous beds and a little pond. There is a small orchard, a fig tree, magnolias and soft fruit. Our speciality is hydrangeas - almost all grown from cuttings, likewise hebes and hostas. This is a wildlife friendly garden with birds, bees butterflies and a nocturna
