Etwall Well Dressing Festival
Well Dressing consists of large tableaux of clayed boards, some being 9' high x 7' wide, decorated with all natural materials, such as flower petals, greenery, seeds & beans, alder & fir cones & many other natural materials.
The origin is to 'Thank the Gods for pure water' during the plaque in 1348 when a bolt of cloth was delivered to a tailor in Derbyshire from London and when opened released the plaque 'bugs' and devastated several villages in Derbyshire.
From 10am until 5pm. Saturday & Sunday various entertainment, i.e. Traditional & Country Dancing, Bands, Children's Fairground rides, Art Exhibition by local artists, Ferret Racing, Climbing Wal
