Charity Garden Open Day: Knock Cottage
A five acre woodland and water garden centred round a small loch and lily pond. Started in the 1960s most of the garden dates from the creation of the lochan in 1989 and the plantings of the 1990s. Development entered a new phase following the severe storms of 2011/12. Some 80 different rhododendron species and hybrids along with camellias, azaleas and other shrubs are scattered throughout the garden in a natural setting, sheltered by conifers, eucalyptus, birch, rowan, alder and beech.
