Swindon Recital Series - Haydn's London Ladies
When Joseph Haydn visited London he made friends with a number of women in the music world. On February 7th Clare McCaldin mezzo soprano and Paul Turner piano will perform Haydn’s London Ladies, which tells the story of four women who inspired Haydn’s music during his two visits to London. Their stories illustrate the precarious social position of women at that time.
