TALK Mental Health, What’s changed?
Speaker: Time to Change Surrey
Mental Health Awareness Week is an opportunity for us to explore the way society has explained and treated mental illness in the last 150 years. Through personal stories, speakers will describe what it was like to be a pauper admitted to the new Brookwood asylum in the 1860s; a middle class patient in the Holloway Sanatorium as it was transferred to the new NHS in 1948; and how someone rich and famous finds themselves a private customer of the Priory in the 21st Century.
