Overbeck's - Forgotten wrecks of the First World War
This specialist exhibition of artifacts and display panels tells a story of the wrecks of the First World War. This fascinating exhibition includes a map of ships that were wrecked off our own local coastline, including that of HMS Asturias. An enemy torpedo fired by a German U-boat hit the Asturias, a hospital ship and was beached by the crew near Bolt Head with some of the wounded being cared for at Overbeck's - which was being used as a convalescent hospital.
