The June lecture is “Gone in a Flash? A History of Firework Displays from the Renaissance to the Age of Electricity” by Timothy Wilcox. This lecture takes an exhilarating look at one art form that is never likely to gather dust in a museum. Timothy Wilcox was a curator at the V&A, in Liverpool and Hove; and from 2001-03 was Acting Assistant Keeper in the British Museum Department of Prints and Drawings.
Before the lecture the Anne Stevens Young Arts Bursary will be awarded to one studen
Lectures begin at 11.00am with coffee and tea from 10.15-10.45. Non-members are very welcome, no need to book (suggested donation £8).
