Harlequin Puppet Theatre

The Harlequin Puppet Theatre, Britain's first permanent theatre built for puppets, opened in 1958. Now it its 64th year it still delights family audiences with a repertoire of Variety, Fairy Tales and Musical fantasies. The theatre is located on the North Wales Coast, at Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay in the County borough of Conwy. The actors in the shows are all marionettes, that is puppets on strings, skilfully brought to life by puppet master Chris Somerville, successor to Eric Bramall, the theatre's founder.
The theatre opens during all school holiday periods, including half terms, when it opens daily with a show at 3pm lasting around an hour and a half. From their extensive repertory the Harlequin features a different show for each school holiday season including a pantomime which always opens on Boxing Day for the Christmas Season.
The shows delight children, and impress adults too with the artistry and skill of the performances and the old world charm of the presentation.
Shows start at 3pm during school holidays. The prices currently (2022) are £7 for adults and £6.50 for children and for senior citizens.
All seats are bookable online, and full information can be found on http://puppetshow.info
