Milton's Cottage

Discover the only surviving residence of the poet, pamphleteer and parliamentarian John Milton - and the place where he completed his epic masterpiece, Paradise Lost. At this Grade I listed country cottage, where he took refuge from the Great Plague of 1665, you'll find a world-class collection of first edition books and pamphlets - as well as a unique literary garden planted with trees, flowers and fruits that are referenced in Milton's poetry.
