Stansted Park Light Railway
A lovely 7 1/4 inch gauge miniature railway which runs around the glorious grounds of Stansted Park (opposite the Garden Centre), Nr Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, PO9 6DU.
Open every Weds & Sat 10:30 - 15:30 (weather permitting).
Run entirley by our friendly volunteers, the railway will take you on a lovely circuit through the grounds that will provide enjoyment for all ages. Approx 1 mile from the 3 platform station, through the Arboretum, back through the station, past the 6 road engine shed with turntable on your left over a 12 foot span girder bridge round Loggers Loop and back into the station.
The railway opened in 2005, with quite humble beginnings, but over the years, the number of volunteers involved has grown, along with the locomotive fleet, which has 1 steam loco, 2 petrol hydraulics and and hybrid (electric/petrol) locomotive. Please be aware that while the railway is totally family friendly, children (under 12) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
