The Control Tower Museum opens for the first time on Sunday 5th April - and then every Sunday afternoon there on, 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. until the last Sunday in October

The Museum is behind Parkers Place, off Eagle Way, Martlesham Heath IP5 3UZ. parking FREE - Admission FREE - but we welcome donations. We have a SUM - UP Machine.

Started as a Royal Flying Corps base in the Great War - The Royal Air Force 1st April 1918.between the wars it was the premier RAF Aircraft and Armament test site for the RAF.
Between the wars it tested over 500 different types Aircraft - which included early Civilian Aircraft being flown for business or pleasure. Military ones included prototype Hurricane and Spitfire. WW2 it was a fighter station!
