Upottery Nissen Hut Heritage Centre
Upottery Airfield was an important area before and after the D-Day landings. See the story with photographs, narrative, uniforms and artefacts in a genuine refurbished Nissen Hut. Exhibits include an enlisted man's bunking area and a local history/home front room, with evacuee and land army information.
There is a small 'mess hall' where we serve hot drinks and biscuits and you can look at information, uniforms, and a radio desk, particular to nearby RAF Culmhead, also very active in WW2.
Open from Good Friday to the last Sunday in October; Thurs - Sun 11am to 4pm
Entry is free but a donation to enable us to carry on our work is greatly appreciated.
Suggested donation £3 each.
