We are open Spring Bank Holiday Sunday & Monday, May 28th & 29th
Our 3 acre sheltered garden is beginning to look colourful again after a harsh winter, with many different varieties of rhododendrons in flower and, if the weather stays not too windy, the Hankerchief Tree (Davidii) should still be in flower.
Trees in full leaf, contrasting their shades and colours against one another. Ferns unfolding in the small woodlands & dell plus shade loving plants, shrubs and small ornamental trees, including Japanese acers.
The walled orchard garden, now full of perennial borders and clematis, scrambling through the old apple trees, some now beginning to flower. Water features include a small wild life pond, a natural looking stream plus an Italian styled walled water feature.
There are lots of seating areas where you can sit and enjoy the view while listening to bird song and classical music. There are some pebble paths but a large proportion of the garden is accessible for wheel chair users..
Light refreshments, including teas, scones & homemade cakes, served under the marquee on the formal lawn by the ladies of St James Church, Brook Street.
We are open from 11an until 5pm and look forward to welcoming you to The Ridges Gardens.
Classical music will be playing, which makes the many different species of birds sing even louder.
