This exhibition features original designs, glass panels, watercolours and other artworks by the leading Arts & Crafts Movement artist Margaret Rope (1882-1953). Many have never been seen in public before. A state of the art projection unit will display giant images of her most famous windows on three sides, in a specially low-lit setting. Documents relating to her life and times will be on view - including newly discovered letters, awards and personal belongings. One display will be devoted to her family upbringing in Shrewsbury. Children will be fascinated by the lifesize Nativity figures. Complementing the exhbtion will be specially commissioned new publications relating to her work, as a series of lectures & discussions and workshops in stained-glass making. Entry to the exhibtion entitles the ticket-holder to visit the whole of the rest of the museum as well.
£4.50 per adult (£2 for a child), but there are concessions for older persons, groups and season-ticket holders. A special student-group rate, of £3 per student, for groups of 12 or more, is available for the Margaret Rope exhibtion.
