The Display at the October Meeting of the St Albans, Harpenden & District Philatelic Society focuses on the ships that linked these far flung outposts of Empire before the advent of air services. Operated by many famous companies, their key role being to carry mail, cargo and passengers. They took migrants to both countries post war and returned with young people looking for their “Overseas Experience”.
