Every year since 1977 we have welcomed visitors from the UK and all over the world to Ashton under Hill for our annual Open Gardens event. They come to enjoy a wide variety of gardens and the friendly atmosphere of this beautiful Worcestershire village, situated in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, at the foot of Bredon Hill. We will have 26 gardens open for you to see on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June 2017. For the first time you can also view around 10 'Open Front Gardens' this year, plus various exhibitions and displays. Lunches and cream teas will be available from 12.00 noon in our new refreshment marquee, tea and cake will be served in the Village Hall by the ladies of the WI, and meals will be served in our village pub The Star Inn. Quality plants and craft goods will also be on sale, and we provide a free illustrated programme, free car and coach parking, plus a complimentary minibus service around the village. To celebrate our 40th anniversary we will be hosting a very special photographic exhibition in St Barbara’s Church. Local photographer Steve Gledhill, who recently completed a portfolio of weekly images ’On Bredon Hill’ will be exhibiting a selection of his stunning and beautiful photographs. Also new to this year’s Open Gardens, stained glass artist Wendy Stafford from Offenham will be exhibiting some of her beautiful glass flowers in one of the gardens.
