A Potted History of Trowbridge
Trowbridge Museum Manager, David Birks, will be giving an illustrated talk on 2000 years of Trowbridge’s history. Taking the castle dig as a starting point the talk will cover the origins of the town in Saxon times, how the town grew and developed into an important medieval caput and a wealthy Tudor town, then expanded further throughout the eighteenth nineteenth centuries to become the county town. The talk will conclude with a short outline of the Museum’s expansion plans.
